I *almost* claimed first post!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been dieing for the opportunity to contribute to this blog. I am grateful to Cath and Rachel and Leslie for setting this up.
I guess we should probably stay away from politics, eh? There are plenty of blogs dedicated to that already. I could post pictures of my kids...but that doesn't really apply to Engineering Leadership.
I did run into a colleague of James's and Amanda's at an event a few weeks ago in San Antonio, in case any of you were wondering just how small (or flat) our current world is.
Welcome to the newly-opened UT-ELI blog and
Cheers!

Lencioni Book on Team Building
Check out The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni. (He also wrote The Five Temptations of a CEO.) His model is based on a hierarchy: 1. Absence of trust, 2. Fear of conflict, 3. Lack of commitment, 4. Avoidance of accountability, and 5. Inattention to results.
Have you read it? What do you think of it?
